Amman — Jordan and Iraq ratified today a blueprint for technical cooperation in geology and mining to enable both countries to enhance mineral wealth mining and facilitate investment in the sector. The blueprint was signed by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Saleh Kharabsheh, and Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals, Manhal Aziz al-Khabbaz.
Parties shall exchange expertise on research and drilling for mineral reserves and evaluation of utilization. Moreover, an information database for ores shall be prepared to be available for investors. New technologies shall be utilized to mine for metallic and non-metallic mineral ores. The parties shall also perform research to improve the specifications of mineral ores and the processing of ores for industrial use.
