Jordan to Attend OIC Extraordinary Meeting

Islamabad — Jordan has been officially invited to take part in the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to be held in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad (17-19 December).

At a press conference on Wednesday, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Jordan Sajjad Ali Khan, praised Jordan’s role, through the OIC and in the international community, in supporting just Islamic causes.

The two-day meeting, he said, is arranged at the request of Saudi Arabia to draw international attention to the humanitarian and economic crisis in Afghanistan.

“OIC member states need to discuss the situation in Afghanistan and help to provide appropriate humanitarian response by promoting regional security and peace,” Khan added.
