Jordan Represented in Arab Police and Security Leaders 45th Conference

Tunis — Gen. Moatasem Abu Shattal, deputy director of the Public Security Directorate (PSD), and other high ranking police officers represent Jordan in the 45th Conference of Arab Police and Security Leaders, which opened today to discuss means to enhance pan-Arab cooperation in the security field.

In his opening speech, Tunisian Minister of Interior, Tawfiq Sharaf El-Din, referred to the changing regional situation that the Arab region is witnessing, adding that the current period sees escalation of terrorist threats and the growing activities of cross-border organized crime networks and cybercrime.

This situation requires developing new visions to address all risks and threats, in a way that contributes to fortifying the Arab region and enhancing peace and stability, the Tunisian minister said.

The conference will also look into a phased plan for implementing the Arab strategy to confront cybercrimes, as well as distinguished security expertise for some member states, according to its press statement.
